Welcome to Darcylicious & Matthew-Macfadyen.co.uk, an unofficial website dedicated to promoting and discussing the incredible acting talents of Matthew Macfadyen. Known in the UK as an award winning, talented character actor of stage and screen, unafraid to tackle challenging and controversial roles; Matthew came to international prominence as Mr Darcy in the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice. Matthew followed this iconic performance by playing a sex offender in Secret Life for which he received a Best Actor award by the RTS. Matthew has continued his remarkable career with more nominations and awards. Most recently, he was awarded a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor in Criminal Justice.
2010 has been an exciting and busy year for Matthew. He returned to the stage, starring alongside Kim Cattrall in Noel Coward's Private Lives. Hopefully, the play will move to Broadway in early 2011. He played the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham in Russell Crowe's Robin Hood. He is the lead in Ken Follett's best seller turned into a mini-series, The Pillars of the Earth. Matthew stars alongside Jim Broadbent in Channel 4's drama, Any Human Heart based on a novel by William Boyd. He is slated to play Athos in the 3D version of Three Musketeers, due to be released in April 2011.
