Maryp Meets Matthew Macfadyen

Maryp went to the Bafta-TV awards on 20 April, 2008 with the hopes of meeting Matthew Macfadyen. She was lucky to do so and has related to us her experience in the forum.

The following is a small excerpt from her exciting experience

He signed my photo and I said something like 'Matthew, I've got a message for you from Darcylicious' and he chuckled - it was a lovely sound and he had a wide smile on his face. I asked if I could hold his hand and he said 'of course' - so I did - but I can't remember if I held it with one of my own or both!!

I said 'we have a special delivery on it's way to you with all our love and congratulations. You are always a winner to us and we wish you the very best of luck!' He said 'that is so sweet, thank you very much, that is lovely'.

This lovely picture taken by Soule of the AA forum and shared by Milton, captures the moment that Maryp was holding Matthew's hand, and hinting about our gift to him.

Thank you Maryp for sharing this moment with us, and expressing all of our thoughts and good wishes for Matthew.

I can't imagine what would l say if l get to know Matthew... maybe it will be embarrasing that l think he'll go and run with fear thinking " this is one of these crazy ladies" haha!

Nah... He will laugh and l will die in that exactly moment!! :)

Hi! I just joined this site Hi! I just joined this site a couple weeks ago. I found this site trying to locate a copy of In My Father's Den that is compatible to US DVD players. I got in contact with the very nice Cubbie who tried to help me (we were unsuccessful in locating the DVD but I've not given up!!). I just wanted to say that I love this site and all the wonderful enthusiasm everyone has for Mr. Macfadyen...he is such a brilliant actor and from what I've read here, sounds like a friendly, sincere and likeable person who goes out of his way to be kind to his fans (rather than annoyed). I would love for him to be recognized more, especially in the US!! It would be thrilling to see MM on Broadway and also one day accepting an Oscar (or two) for Best Actor!! You Brits have the best acting talent and programs,IMO! Anyway, I love reading about everyone's experiences meeting him. Thanks for sharing and take care! MM has struck me like no other actor I can recall. He just has something magical!! What a lucky lady that got to meet him in person!
