Matthew Macfadyen Nominated for BAFTA 2008

The British Academy Television Awards (BAFTA) have announced the nominations for 2008. Matthew Macfadyen has been nominated for Best Actor for Secret Life, where he plays Charlie, a pedophile trying to reform. The BAFTA's will be held on Sunday, 20 April, 2008 at the London Palladium. Matthew Macfadyen won the RTS Award for best Male Actor for Secret Life in March.

I admit, I wasn't thrilled when I first learned that you were going to play the role of a pedophile. It's not considered a "sympathetic" role. But, I persevered, watched it, and cried. Although I've loved watching you in many different movies, this is the one that I think is the most poignant.
